Take it to the Couch:
Hope for Healing
My therapy journey for healing from early childhood trauma began on October 24, 2014. It was the first day I ever sat on a therapist's couch. All through my writing, the couch is the symbolic representation for therapy. What it represents is healing. If you have never sat down on a therapist's couch but need to, understand that it will be the bravest decision you will ever make. This shouldn't be true, but it is. Every human being can benefit from therapy! It is not about changing your past; it is about changing how you feel about it. What was a terrifying place to sit on that first day of therapy, became the place where I healed layers of pain hidden deep inside of me. The couch now represents my mission to remove the stigma from seeking help for mental health. It represents the healing and freedom that can be found while sitting on a therapist's couch. Note: This video was completed before I launched my website. This picture of my original home page, I place here to remind my self of how afraid I was, how I was still hiding behind this Home Page and how much courage it took to go to therapy and tell my story!
